"Save public access golf and protect the environment. Keeping the land as public use, keeps the game accessible and most importantly gets folks outside and conscious of maintaining their environment."

"I've on the peninsula since birth. I'm 33 now and have been playing golf at Sharp Park since the early 90's. Please keep Sharp Park open as an 18 hole golf course. As someone with two young boys and limited income, Sharp Park is one of the only few courses that I can afford..."

"Sharp Park Golf Course is a fantastic location to play golf and be in nature. It is affordable and playable by people of all ages, races, young, old, male, and female. I believe that the golf course can work in harmony with the endangered species. In fact, other local course tout their eco-friendly orientation as a plus. Let's keep this course going and make it a flagship for environmental stewardship that it can certainly be."

"Please keep Sharp Park. As a life-long supporter of environmental causes, I'm finding it strange to have my view at odds with groups identifying themselves as 'Environmentalists.' It makes me wonder if this group of individuals are pro-environment (like me), or anti-golf (unlike me)."

"Sharp Park Golf Course is magnificent. It is one of the Crown Jewels of San Francisco and Pacifica. It would be a travesty to change the layout of such a beautiful course. Golfers know about etiquette. We respect the environment and we support all efforts to maintain the harmony of the ecosystem... Golf brings out the best in people and we pass that on to our children. Countless numbers of children have grown up playing golf at Sharp Park and are now passing it on. That is something San Francisco and Pacifica should take pride in and should nourish and develop. To me Sharp Park GC, defines what is good about S.F and Pacifica."

"AS a native San Franciscan and lifelong golfer I grew up playing Sharp Park Golf Course as well as Harding Park. Now that I am retired and a senior I have more time to play Sharps along with many other golfers, seniors and all other ages as well. Please keep Sharps an 18 hole golf course for what it was intended to be enjoyed by all that are lucky enough to experience its beauty and challenge...Thank-You"

"I have played this course for 30 years and enjoy the pristine environement and open space. It's indeed a gem. We also used the great restaurant on many occassions having business lunches and breakfast...bringing additional revenue to the area. It's the ONLY golf course on this side of the Bay Area/northern peninsula that's still affordable to everyone and to seniors like myself. The wetlands area has always been well kept preserving the wetlands and wild life. You MUST save this precious resource and keep it as a golf course environment for our grand children and their grand children's children. It adds to the unique character and ambience of the area, and to the well being of all."

"SPGC has a rich history that provides a wonderful chance to experience the beauty of the area. The course is affordable and makes it accessible to everyone regardless of social status and background. The course is truly one of the few gems in the area. Closing it would have a greater impact to not just the golfers but the local community of Pacifica. The frogs and the snakes are thriving because of the environment and there are many golf courses around the country where local habitat and the community can continue to co-exist and enjoy the use of the land. Please keep SHARP PARK GC."

"I lived for years in SF and now years in Pacifica. This is a true gem that must be saved for the future generations of both communities. SF residents of all ages and persuasions can be found walking the course daily, enjoying a design created by arguably the most famous designer in golf history... it is affordable, and yet brings monies to SF's Park and Rec Department. We must find a way to save this course... and better still, bring it back to all it's glory. This should be a place that puts both SF and Pacifica on the map as one of the world's Golf destinations."

"Why would you go backwards?? The park is used by both people and the animals that now inhabit this space..living together with respect.."

"I am a San Francisco resident who has been playing golf at Sharps' for many many years. I am now retired from my job allowing me and my foursome to play more golf at Sharps'. Please see your way fit to work out an agreement that will benefit all parties. I am sure I speak for all the many golfers who play at Sharps' Thank-you "

"Recently, while looking up information about other habitat areas, like Ano Nuevo, I've learned that SF Garter Snake populations in those pristine areas are declining also. 'Restoring' Sharp Park is an experiment that doesn't consider the complexity of the problem and doesn't guarantee that it's going to accomplish the goal of increasing the numbers of endangered snakes and frogs. Before we demolish this very valuable community asset, one that would take millions to create in today's dollars, we need to ask many questions. The most important being, is it really necessary? It would be a shame to lose this coastal gem, especially since it enhanced the habitat to begin with."

"Please do NOT take away Sharp Park Golf Course from us golfers. It is my favorite course in the area and the staff is super friendly. Its a beautiful place and we take care of it."

"The majority of golfers at Sharp Park are seniors on fixed incomes and blue collar types, not the elitist wealthy many associate with the sport. To take away Sharp is to take away the only form of exercise and enjoyment for many seniors...I love playing golf at Sharp Park Golf course in Pacifica. There are not too many public golf courses here in San Francisco. I have one young child that also enjoys playing golf and we would like to save the Sharp Park golf course in Pacifica. So, please save historic Sharp Park golf and archery for San Francisco. It is uniquely San Franciscan insofar as us 'ittle guys' can enjoy the 'Augusta of the West' design that only the rich enjoy elsewhere..."

"The majority of golfers at Sharp Park are seniors on fixed incomes and blue collar types, not the elitist wealthy many associate with the sport. To take away Sharp is to take away the only form of exercise and enjoyment for many seniors."

"I am a San Francisco resident and a register voter. I love playing golf at Sharp Park Golf course in Pacifica. There are not too many public golf courses here in San Francisco. I have two young children that also enjoy playing golf and we would like to save the Sharp Park golf course in Pacifica. Thank you."

"Please save historic Sharp Park golf and archery for San Francisco. It is uniquely San Franciscan insofar as us "little guys" can enjoy the "Augusta of the West" design that only the rich enjoy elsewhere."

"Leave Sharp Park Golf Course alone. It is a jewel that we have admired all our lives...that's over 75 years. The fine restaurant is our favorite and only ten minutes from San Francisco. We are not golfers, but are members and supporters of S.F. Park and Rec. Keep Sharp Park, it is part of our history."

"The honorable game of golf teaches our youth such values as honesty, discipline and humility. As a young adult growing up in San Francisco, I had spent many weekends playing at Sharp Park and Lincoln Park golf courses. San Francisco would be doing a disservice to its active seniors and a grave mistake to its youth by not supporting this facility. We would all be better served to keep Sharp Park's present status."

"Sharp Park is an Alistar Mackenzie Golf Course. It was designed by Mr. Mackenzie just before Augusta National where the Masters Tournament is held and just after Cypress Point in Monterey 2 of the most exclusive golf courses in the world. It would be a shame to destroy this work of art which needs a little restoring for short term gains. Think about it, there aren't many left like this one....and public at that."

"Please ensure to exhaust every effort to keep this golf course open. It is a piece of history, not only to Bay Area residents, but due to the course architect, it's a national treasure. It's akin to going back in time and playing a turn of the century design before the modern Nicklaus, Palmer, Norman, etc. designs became the contemporary flavor. What a shame if this beautiful course is not allowed to flourish."

"...All the logical reasons for keeping the course are well documented. Profitable, and less destructive than a "nature preserve" that allows human traffic etc. This course is a landmark and loved by many people. It qualifies as an asset in many well documented and important ways. Replacing it with a preserve may benefit the native grasses, but look around, the grass hardly seems threatened... "

"Closing Sharp Park would primarily hurt the working class and Seniors. It is one of the last affordable places to play golf. Golfers, the red legged frog and the San Francisco garter snake can coexist at Sharp Park."

"We would like to invite all of the supervisors (yea even Gavin Newsom) to a round of golf! It is affordable and convenient for people who cannot afford to pay $85 to $100 per round. Why not give the property to Pacifica, we will take care of it! Thank you."

"Please keep Sharp Park Golf Course as a golf course. Thank You"

"Sharp Park is one of the finest golfing venues in the state. It would be a shame to lose such a treasure valued and used by so many diverse people."

"Sharp Park Golf Course is an ideal setting for all venues. Golfers, walkers, and environmentalist can all share this valuable property. Keep Sharp Park a golf course and use the surrounding properties for other purposes. "

"I have been a golfer at Sharp Park for 39 years and have personally never seen a frog, but have been told their eggs are laid on the course. This being, I feel that the golf course has not been a problem for the frogs. They are still there and have been thriving. The golf course has been a place of recreation for many S.F. seniors and regular golfers. Making the course a park would be a terrible waste of recreation for all S.F. and Pacifica residents."

"Sharp Park has been, and hopefully will always be, an integral part of the local community, continuing to provide affordable golf to those on the Peninsula, as well as San Francisco residents. To lose this gem by the beach would do irreparable harm to the people of today, and to those in the future, who would never be able to enjoy an Allister Mackenzie designed course, or share in the unique experience that has revolved around the quality people that staff and utilize this facility, including the fun-filled bar, and delectable restaurant. Long live Sharp Park Golf Course and those who use it."

"Sharp Park is public golf. I love the community it fosters. The experience of the late afternoon with the course glowing ranges of red, blue and green as the sun sets and friends await in the clubhouse is something that should endure."

"Sharp Park is the only affordable golf course in the North County. To take this course away from the local residents would remove the availability of recreation for countless seniors in the area."

"I golf with my 75 year old dad, and we talk of the future and laugh at things from our past. I play with my 10 and 12 year old sons, telling them to look up and around, smelling the fresh air and reminding them how lucky we are to have this gem in our backyard! There are not many activities and places that we get this sort of peace from!"

"Sharp Park Golf course is one of the highlights of Pacifica. It would be a shame to lose something with so much history."

"For me, Sharp Park is home. Name another place in the Bay Area that someone can play golf for $26.00 on a Saturday and have a great day?"

"Sharp Park is a wonderful course that is affordable and also offers sanctuary for birds and lots of other wildlife. In the afternoons you will see classes with kids learning to play the game. Sometimes a hole will flood and it is just turned into a shorter hole or bypassed. Can't we continue to compromise and satisfy all parties?"

"Sharp Park is a valuable asset to the golfing community of the bay area. It facilitates public health by encouraging exercise in a lovely location for a reasonable cost. It serves a public good, plain and simple."

"Sharp Park is my all time favorite golf course because of its wildlife and beauty. It's affordable to the common person which makes it the perfect blend of quiet recreation and environmental protection. Losing Sharp Park would be like losing the heart of a community, both for the humans and wildlife that peacefully share it."

"I wish we in San Francisco could create this deep sense of community which I once felt at Lincoln and especially Harding. I miss the family I lost when Harding changed. I miss the evenings meeting my friends to play 9 holes or spending a few hours on the putting green wagering for quarters. I miss the drinks and the stories from the old timers now gone. My hope is that this can come again."

"You are very lucky to have this and I know why you have spent so much time to fight for it. We are all in this together and we the public want a better world for ourselves and our children."

"When I come to Sharp Park and the bar and restaurant I see the community of average citizens of all colors, races etc. enjoying a lunch, dinner or a drink."

"I was so impressed with your supporters from Pacifica and the atmosphere I experience when I play Sharp Park. The stories they told expressed the wonderful soul and spirit of Pacifica and Sharp Park."
